For the ninth entry in "The Figure Behind the Ink" series, we are featuring Echizen, Fukui-based @horitsubaki (彫椿). In this series, Waboripedia interviews respected Horishi from around the world. The purpose is not only to give exposure to the world of Wabori, but also to give life to the figures behind the beautiful work.

@horitsubaki is based out of Echizen, Fukui, Japan. His tebori work brings forth a beautiful, traditional style inspired by Japanese folklore and ukiyo-e masters, such as Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, fused with Horitsubaki's own flare. Visit his IG to see more of his works.
